A farmer’s visit and conducted tour to B.Y. Agro and Infra’s frozen foods processing plant has been organized on January 30, 2014, by the Wardha unit of ATMA (Agriculture Technical Management Agency), which is an initiative of the Maharashtra State Government.
ATMA is encouraging 100 groups of 15 farmers each to start growing fruits and vegetables of international quality, which will then be bought by B.Y. Agro & Infra and processed to be exported to international markets. B.Y. Agro & Infra will pay assured prices to the farmers and thus end farmers search for a market and proper prices for their produce.
There is a huge demand for clean, hygienic, washed, cut, processed and frozen fruits and vegetables around the world, and B.Y. Agro & Infra plans to bridge the gap between the local farmer and the international market with its stae-of-the-art frozen foods processing plant in Sindivihiri village of Wardha district.
During the program, research heads of the Punjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth (PDKV) will guide the farmers on modern techniques of farming, organic farming, and drip irrigation.
